Introducing EDUKINO

EDUKINO is a 2 year long Erasmus+ funded project which will improve the learning opportunities for children in migratory/challenging situations. Initiated due to the lack of provision for migrant children in Europe, the project will aide in integration and social inclusion. EDUKINO will develop a methodology for delivering an Image Education course, better known in the UK as Media Studies. This course will engage the children with topics and imagery crucial to public life, build confidence, and develop competencies in compliance with the European Commission’s desire to develop skills at every stage. EDUKINO will also develop resources and methodologies for professionals and artistic practitioners who work within educational/social settings.

The project is partnership of seven organisations from across Europe:

  • AFEJI (France)
  • APROXIMAR- COOPERATIVA DE SOLIDARIEDADE SOCIAL (Portugal)
  • Asociatia Profesionala Neguvernamentala de Asistenta Sociala ASSOC (Romania)
  • CENTRUL PENTRU PROMOVAREA INVATARII PERMANENTE TIMISOARA ASOCIATIA (Romania)
  • Cinéligue (France)
  • L’Univers Cité (France)
  • No Place Productions (United Kingdom)

This project will develop three resources:

  1. Intersectoral cooperation methodology: best practices and frameworks to allow for effective cooperation between professionals, social services, and relevant parties.
  2. Image education program: methodology to engage young people in images and topics which shape public life and discourse.
  3. Capacity building program: support for education professionals
  4. Awareness raising campaign and capacity building for children: build the confidence of the children as well as bring greater awareness of the other resources
