We have a core team of highly experienced professional artists and creatives developing, delivering and co-ordinating our projects. Our diverse team includes actors, workshop facilitators, writers, sound technicians, musicians and producers.

Rachel Challand

Artistic Director and Founder of No Place Productions

Rachel graduated Liverpool John Moores University in 2007 with a BA Hons degree in Drama. An experienced Actor, Workshop Facilitator and Producer nationally and internationally. Rachel has 15 years experience producing and delivering theatre and creative projects within the artistic and prison sector. A qualified life coach and mentor, Rachel also leads on all of our strategic and frontline project delivery within the UK and Europe.

Aimee Marnell

Actor and Project Coordinator

Aimee is an actor, singer, and Psychology Graduate. She is currently studying for an MA in Person-Centred Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Aimee has worked with NPP since 2015 as an Actor, Workshop Facilitator, and in Creative Project Development and Co-ordination.

Carl Cockram

Lead Practitioner

Carl Cockram is one of our lead Practitioners. Graduating from LIPA in 2003 with a degree in Community Art, Carl works nationally and internationally as an Actor, Workshop Facilitator and Director. Carl leads on our frontline project development and delivery, specialising in projects engaging with men in prison, and their family members.

Joe Shipman

ACTOR

Joe Shipman is an actor, theatre maker and drama practitioner with over fifteen years’ experience working across a wide variety of theatre and has worked on numerous award-winning projects. As well as being founder member of street theatre company EggPeople, Joe is one of NPP’s leading actors and workshop facilitators, working on our front line delivery.

Barry Han

Musician, Sound Designer and Audio Engineer

Barry Han is a musician, sound designer, audio engineer and composer for theatre, podcasts, video and sound installations.

He has worked with small and large-scale, indoor and outdoor theatre companies and Liverpool Museums. Barry has worked on large-scale outdoor productions and has been the sound designer and composer for ‘Manchester Pride Parade’. Barry is NPP’s lead Sound Designer and Audio engineer, for our digital portfolio, live theatre performances and residencies.

Laura Campbell

ACTOR/Musician

Laura is an Actor, Musician and sound designer working nationally and internationally, whose credits include working with Music Charity Brighter Sound on their Both Sides Now international commission, and an album with Finnish composer Mari Sanio. Laura is one of NPP’s leading actors and workshop facilitators, and has been an integral front line team member for NPP since 2015, working on a variety of our UK based projects.

Joe Ward Munrow

WRITER

Joe is a playwright from south London who is now based in Liverpool, with his work featured on The Gate/RWCMD, Liverpool Playhouse, National Theatre, Royal Court, Brockley Jack, and BBC Radio 4. Awards include the Mercury Weinberger playwriting prize, a Write Now award (Brockley Jack theatre) and a BBC Alfred Bradley commendation. Along with leading the Liverpool Everyman Young Writers’ Programme, and writing groups at the Royal Court and Manchester Royal Exchange, Joe has extensive experience writing live drama for marginalised people, and has been NPP’s resident writer since 2014.

Keeley Ray

Sound Engineer

Keeley Ray is a sound engineer and music producer from Liverpool, and has worked both internationally and across the UK with Theatre Companies, Media Brands and Musicians to create powerful thought provoking work. Specialising in electronic sound Keeley has a developed a signature sound that translates through Radio Dramas, Music Production, Sound Design & more.

Keeley is resident recording engineer at GoPlayStudio Liverpool, with her work featured on BBC Radio Introducing, BBC Radio 6 & Capital Xtra. Keeley leads NPP’s sound engineering on all our audio projects.
