Project Description

MAN UP INSIDE follows the story of Liam, a 34 year old prisoner as he struggles with the pressure of coming to the end of his long sentence, rekindling old relationships, and the reality of life after jail.

MAN UP INSIDE is a live theatre performance followed by a facilitated discussion/workshop for men in prison which focuses on the improvement of mental health of men in prison, stigma reduction surrounding mental health in men, and reducing rates of self harm and suicide.

Co-developed with the NPP Team, men in prison with lived experience, their family members & HMPPS mental health teams, MAN UP INSIDE was originally funded as part of the HMPPS Innovation Grant Awards 2018-2020, and engaged with over 1900 men in prison across the UK during that time.

We are excited to announce MAN UP INSIDE has been awarded funding from the Department of Health and Social Care Suicide Prevention Fund.
