Project Description

RELEASE RADIO is an audio adaptation of NPP’s live theatre performance, RELEASE.

This Radio Play, accompanied by a facilitated workshop is specifically designed for long term prisoners with less than 3 years left of their sentence.

A person with short grey hair and glasses sits indoors by a window, looking at the camera. They wear a dark top and are near a microphone, with a garden and brick wall visible outside.Following the journey of 55 year old ‘Tony’ on his first home visit after serving 13 years in prison, RELEASE explores the highs, the lows, and complexities of resettlement as Tony, his wife, daughter and son try to adjust to life after prison.

Co-developed by the NPP Team, men in prison & their families, RELEASE eases the transition from custody to resettlement, promoting stronger family ties, increased service engagement & reduced re-offending.

A man with glasses resting on his head, wearing a cream-coloured cable-knit jumper, sits at a table holding a black microphone, looking thoughtfully to the side in a cosy kitchen setting.Ideal for group or solo listening, this project is COVID safe.
